Well, I was only in my first year of high school in 2009 so I don’t remember the details, much less understand them, but I do remember many class absences with students and quite a bit of fear and concern around the entire ordeal.

I just looked up a comparative of H1N1 and COVID statistics. What I found was that at the end of H1N1, 12,469 people had died in America. Compare that to current COVID statistics, which have the US death count at 133,455, which is over ten times the death count of H1N1. And that’s only so far. The COVID pandemic has not even peaked in the states yet.

To conclude, it makes sense that we’re taking Coronavirus much more seriously than H1N1. It appears to be much more serious.
